There are several software options for
running the RCFoamCutter machines.
Cutting foam is done in 3 steps.
1. Drawing the desired shape
2. Converting the shape to G-Code
3. Running the machine
1. Drawing:
Any CAD tool, such as AutoCAD or CorelDraw can be used as long as the
file can be saved in DXF format
We recomend the following
Instant Engineer 14 - can be found on Ebay for about $10
DevFoam is also a great tool - it combines both a drawing and g code
generation tool - can
be found here
2. Converting to G code:
DeskCNC DevCAD and foamworks all are good choices
3. Running the machine
Mach3 is what we use on all
of our machines, but DeskCNC can
also be used (with an add-on board)
